Lorraine Woodward
“When the world wasn’t built for you, you build your own." Lorraine Woodward, CEO of Becoming rentABLE, turned her personal struggle with Muscular Dystrophy into a powerful mission. With three of the four in her family living with Muscular Dystrophy, Lorraine spent years frustrated with the impossible task of finding vacation rentals that fit her family’s needs. Tired of constant disappointment, she created "A Place of No Worries" in 2014, an accessible property that became a lifeline for other families with disabilities who faced the same struggle.
Realizing the huge demand for accessible short-term rentals and the glaring lack of options, Lorraine launched Becoming rentABLE in 2021. Lorraine is committed to making accessibility the norm, not the exception, expanding accessibility beyond just the wheelchair to include all mobility, cognitive, hearing, vision, and aging needs. Her vision is to create a world where everyone can travel with dignity and ease, regardless of ability.
Jennifer Springer
Jennifer is a driving force behind our day-to-day operations at Becoming rentABLE, as the COO and one of the founding partners. She is an invaluable asset to our team and wears many hats to help ensure our organization is running smoothly.
Jennifer’s journey into the world of disability advocacy began 25 years ago at Easter Seals North Carolina, where she first crossed paths with Lorraine Woodward. As a person with severe anxiety, mom of a child with ADHD, and aunt of someone with autism, Jennifer has an immense empathy for all disabilities, but especially those that are cognitive in nature.
